Deal Alert: 4 Thrift Categories Moving Right Now
Four secondhand categories that are selling well this month, based on our own recent flips, and what to pay for each one.
These are categories that have moved for us recently, pulled straight from our own sold flips. This is not a hot-list of rumors. It is what has actually been selling, and roughly what it is worth grabbing for.
1. Beer tap handles
Branded tap handles keep selling. Macro brands move steadily in the twenty to forty dollar range, and craft or regional brewery handles can go higher because so few are listed. If you see one clean and complete for a few dollars, it is almost always worth it. See the Exile Dankalope breakdown for a $5 buy that sold for $29.95.
2. Licensed motorsport apparel
NASCAR and racing tees, jerseys, and hats with a named driver and a clear sponsor sell fast to fans searching for their driver. Used pieces at five dollars turn into fifteen to twenty regularly. The key is a specific title.
3. Minor-league and defunct-team jerseys
The teams everyone else ignores are the ones with patient collectors. A minor-league hockey or baseball jersey from a team that no longer exists can outsell a current big-league one. Look for the name, the league, and the size.
4. Home bar and barware
Beyond tap handles, branded barware, coasters, signs, and glassware sell to the growing home-bar crowd. It photographs well and ships small.
How to use this
Do not buy a category because a list said so. Check recent sold prices for the specific item in front of you, confirm demand, then decide. We break down the full sourcing method, and post new flips as they sell, on the YouTube channel.
